Siena

Known for its enormous historic, artistic and natural heritage, Siena is known as the City of Palio, a historical secular tradition connected to Contradas (main districts), which the city of Siena is divided into. Palio is held twice a year, in the main town square “Piazza del Campo”, it is one of the most important traditions dating back to medieval times, famous all over the world.

Not far from Mount Amiata, stands the city of Siena, among the most popular and visited cities of Tuscany. Siena is a place rich in history and art, but also of strong traditions, mainly related to the districts and to the aforementioned Palio.

Among different activities and attractions that the city offers, the visit to the old town (which became Unesco in 1995) is particularly impressive. Characterized by narrow streets with tall fourteenth-century palaces, historic squares and great views of the surrounding countryside. Must visits are: Piazza del Campo, the shell-shaped square where Palio takes place preceded by a parade in medieval costumes, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, one of the most outstanding examples of Italian Romanesque-Gothic style.

Visits can be carried out on different styles depending on the demands and needs. We can arrange different kind of visits depending on your desires and requirments: from shopping to children’s activities, food and wine museums, visits to the “Contradas” or wandering through the ancient streets, fountains and squares
