PROGRAMME

Day 1 – Arrival Day

The difference between success and failure is a great team. Let’s start getting successful!

Pickup at the airport of Florence, Rome or Pisa. Arrival at the hotel and check-in. It takes about three hours to reach Monte Amiata from the airport. If the group arrives in time we will stop for a light lunch.

After checking in at the hotel, take your time to recover from the journey and enjoy a welcome cocktail followed by a tour briefing. Then dinner with traditional local dishes and wines from the Monte Amiata region.

Day 2 – Orienteering in the beech woods

Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” –Andrew Carnegie

After breakfast, orienteering in the beech woods of Mount Amiata.

Orienteering is often defined as the “intelligent sport”, since one has to combine accurate map-reading to considerable physical exertion. Amiata is a huge open-air museum, rich in art and culture, an ideal place to find plants, animals and flowers. This activity (training and practice) will last all day long, with a pause for a picnic.
In the morning, training supervised by local instructors: reading of a map, orienteering techniques, the compass, ecc…
In the afternoon, orienteering session into the woods.
In the evening after dinner, we shall all go to a local bar to experience some local life.

Day 3 – Walking on Mount Amiata

If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself. –Henry Ford

After breakfast, we leave the hotel to climb to the “Vetta Amiata”, the summit of Monte Amiata. The path starts at about 1400mt and passes “Generale Cantore” on the other side of the mountain threading its way through beautiful beech woods. An expert guide will show you all the best of local flora and fauna. The last section of the walk is a little harder, but you will be rewarded by the magnificent view from the top.

Picnic in the wood.

In the afternoon, tree top adventure at the Amiata Indiana Park. This adventurous park is suspended high between trees and nature; there are several routes for children and adults that can be undertaken with confidence through the use of latest generation carabineers and the constant assistance of the staff. Return to hotel and dinner.

Day 4 – Downhill: be free to challenge gravity

Unity is strength… when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” –Mattie Stepanek

In the morning downhill experience on Mount Amiata Bike Park Resort for a unique experience that tests your technical, physical and mental skills: going down along the clean paths, designed with different levels of difficulty for each type of request, with a bike and an expert guide at your service any time.

In the afternoon, free time. Several activities are available such as:

  • Relaxing at the Mount Amiata Spa or into the thermal pools of San Filippo;
  • Product tastings in local companies such as wine estate, cheese factories or olive oil mills
  • Visits to small medieval villages of the surroundings
  • Museums, castles, abbeys

Day 5 – Bicycle tours in Southern Tuscany

Individual commitment to a group effort–that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. –Vince Lombardi

We leave the Hotel and through undulating roads between beautiful castles and villages we’ll find ourselves in Etruscan lands.

You will enjoy a picnic in a park overlooking the scenic medieval village of Sorano, built in a tuff rock. After the visit, having crossed to the other side of the valley and tackling a short climb uphill, we’ll reach Pitigliano, known for its Etruscan past, but also for its excellent white wine.
And finally, on a road which cuts through the sandstone, we’ll arrive at Sovana where we will visit the old medieval village with its famous square and cathedral.

Return to the hotel in late afternoon by bus.

Please, notice that the group will be followed by a security bus during the tour; this service is to ensure the safety of all the participants. The guides have tools and equipment for the bicycles. If one of the attendants would like to go by car instead of bike it’s a possibility that can be arranged.

Day 6 – Final departure

The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team. –Phil Jackson
